Liana Schmidt was born in Vancouver and lives in Toronto. Working in photography, video, installation, and art direction,
Liana's work revolves around injecting the absurd, the fantastical, and other shiny things into everyday life -- albeit in an
often alien and deadpan way.
Her work is like an idiosyncratic and imaginary Mardi Gras (never having been to a real Mardi Gras), combined with the best of
Expo '86 (her artistic sensibility having first awakened at the real Expo '86).
